Catastrophic, anthropogenic name calling

Original Article: Miami, the great world city, is drowning while the powers that be look away
Commentary article: The Stupidity of Climate Hysterics
If all they’ve got is name calling, their case for catastrophic global warming must be weak indeed.
[Senator Mario] “Rubio is an idiot”

"All [are] Republican climate-change deniers" (based on the vile charge, "holocaust denier").

"The problem is the city is run by climate change deniers."

Who runs the city is irrelevant. Who runs Florida is irrelevant. Who runs the US is irrelevant.

The US is decreasing the amount of carbon dioxide it releases. China is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in the world. India is catching up fast.

Even if the entire world stops producing carbon dioxide tomorrow, it is irrelevant. If reality actually matches the predictions of temperature rise, even without increasing carbon dioxide, then the oceans will still rise by most of the 6 to 10 feet that the Professor Wanless says it will.

Why? Because of the warming that has already occurred and because the amount of carbon dioxide that is already in the atmosphere.

Therefore, why the article? What is the purpose of the article?

Blame Republicans? Scare people?

The logical fallacy employed is the ad hominen attack.
